Friday afternoon’s practice was wonderful. It started out with fitting everyone for team rash guards, confirming sizing and team numbers. Hopefully we will have our team uniforms by our next competition in late May. At the same time, Coach Hurdman was meeting individually with each team member to discuss their tricks for the afternoon. Then it was on to the water. The wind was strong and the kites were flying. It was such a picturesque site. The only kites on the water were those of the Falcons. Sitting on the beach with the other parents watching our kids doing tricks they only dreamed of doing months before was a proud moment for us all. How lucky are we!!! Thank you Coach Hurdman!

We made the right call on cancelling the competition for today. The wind could not have blown out a candle.

That said, there is quite a bit of excitement for Youri Zoon’s arrival May 6. There are only 4 slots left for Dorado. The Parguera clinic is full but there is a growing waiting list. Isabela is still open but move quickly if you want to have a lesson with a 2x world champion! Here is the link again:

We are planning a Dorado Falcons cookout with Youri Zoon on Friday afternoon May 6 on the beach after Youri is finished with his Dorado Clinic. All AKA members and parents are welcome. It will be burgers and hotdogs on the grill. Please bring salads, deserts, soft drinks and spirits to complete the dinner buffet.  Bring your cameras and autograph books. It can’t be a late night because Youri needs to go got Parguera the next morning!

We are receiving a growing response that a Championship date for late June will not be practical for many kiters. We will be back to everyone with an alternative date for the end of May/ early June.
